March: the Southern South

An elderly photographer named Chie has returned to Taiwan from the US and reveals to her granddaughter a piece of the island’s history that involves her sister Iong Ha and her sister’s sweetheart Kong Sui back when they were high school students and she was in elementary school for, in the year 1947, they were caught up in the 228 Incident where students from Kaohsiung clashed with the Nationalist army.
