Hyeonje, a small-town assistant manager, adapts to the ruthlessness of society. Hoping for acceptance and promotion, he surrenders to the strict hierarchy, clique culture and collectivism at work. He is then tasked with mentoring Hye-won, who has been demoted from the head office. This film asks us all to accept the harsh reality of Korea’s organizational culture. First-time director Lee Seede maintains the minimalistic form and builds up tension, placing the wretchedness of society within a personal context. (Source: JIFF)
