Idealistic and passionate rookie lawyer Yen Ching takes on the case of a death row prisoner Ming Te, who has been sentenced to death five times. Yen Ching, initially harboring no high hopes, begins to believe in Ming Te’s innocence as she delves deeper into the case. Firm in her conviction that law should represent justice, she submits extensive evidence to prove Ming Te’s innocence, only to be disregarded by the judges. Yen Ching soon realizes that she is not merely fighting against the legal system but against the inherent human nature of prejudice.
